ALL TIMES AT ONCE

May, 2022

All Times At Once grew from a college composition project, entitled Forgetting and Being Forgotten. The piece broadly interrogates memory's affect on our daily lives, and operates as if we are constantly living the past, present, and future versions of ourselves.

This dance is - simply put - wild. It moves from hypnotic to frenzied, from purposefully over-staged to completely improvised, from minute movements to loud, "drunken" song and dance. There are dozens of stories threaded throughout. Poignant moments of connection emerge, only to be replaced with blasé disregard. At several moments, dancers are tasked with speaking over one another or redirecting the flow of the dance to someplace entirely new. This dance was performed 4 times and changed substantially each night, both in sound and movement. Rather than following a linear or narrative pathway, this piece wholly immersed audiences in layers of a memory landscape, where emotional ping-ponging, intrusive thoughts, songs-stuck-in-your-head, and more had free-range on stage.
